Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

So, here we stand at the end of another year. Is it me, or do the months seem to fly past much quicker these days? A sign of my advancing years no doubt!

Anyway, whatever the reason, Christmas is with us again and soon we will be saying farewell to 2014. For some of us it will be a case of 'good riddance'. For others, a fond goodbye and some happy memories. For most of us it will have contained a mix of experiences - some good, some bad. Some happy, some sad. We may have lost old friends and found new ones. We may have had to say a final goodbye to people and/or animals we love dearly.

Whatever your experiences of 2014, I wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and all that you wish yourselves in 2015.

May your 'Fairytale' come true - but not like this (it's still a great song though!):

A Real Neat Blog Award

Well, would you believe it? Shehanne Moore - she who writes the most excellent (and raunchy) historical romance novels has bestowed a new award on me. Ladies, gentlemen and hamsters (you have to visit her blog for that too make sense), I am most honoured to accept the:

Before I start thanking my mother for giving birth to me, God for creating the universe and pussy cats for being so furry, I must thank Shehanne properly. If you haven't visited her blog yet,  you've been missing a treat, so when you're done here, just hop on over to: Shehanne Moore - blog.

Now, as this is an award meme there are, of course rules. Here they are:

1. Put the award logo on your blog.
2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

OK, I have fulfilled my tasks for numbers 1 and 3, now onto rule 2:

QUESTION 1 Where do most visits to your blog come from?

The USA tops the list which is probably unsurprising. Then comes the UK and third, surprisingly, is France

QUESTION 2 What is your favourite sport?

Sport? No. Not for me. Never any good at it, you see. Just wanted to read a book - or write one. As a child, I had vague dreams of becoming a showjumper on a brilliant white horse. I enjoy watching tennis though. Especially if it's Novak Djokovic.

QUESTION 3 What has been a special moment for you in 2014?

Undoubtedly signing my contract with Amber Quill Press.  Freya's Choice comes out in early February and I can't wait!
QUESTION 4  What is your favourite quote?

I have many, depending on my mood or the situation. Here are a few:
Oscar Wilde: "Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes"

"Keep love in your heart.  A life without it is like a sunless garden when all the flowers are dead."

Dorothy Parker: "Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone."

"This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force."

Mae West: "I used to be Snow White, but I drifted."

"Between two evils, I always try to pick the one I haven't tried before."

QUESTION FIVE. What was your favourite class when still at school?

Unquestionably, English, swiftly followed by History.

QUESTION SIX. Anything you wished to have learned earlier?

That when you turn 20, the next ten years are a hell of a lot shorter than the previous ten!

QUESTION SEVEN What musical instrument have you tried to play?

Descant recorder, at school - excruciatingly.

OK, now onto rule four. I nominate:
